Sunday Supplement ~~ MOON

Astrologers will consider it highly significant that the 8.8 earthquake in Chile occurred close to the time of Full Moon. Richard Nolle at Astropro did warn of a clear potential for earthquake around 28 February, with the weekend's "Super Moon" (Moon at nearest point to Earth). It wasn't possible, though, to predict the actual location. There's a lot of detail to plough through on his website; there are parts relevant to the earthquake in the 2010 annual prediction section, and in the February 2010, both in "Futures" section.

Sincere sympathies to all affected by this most recent catastrophe.

FULL COLD MOON
By: ari' anna arena

This night
All light
Full still moon

Lamp lit
Silhouette
Full still moon

Many faces
Secret places
Full still moon

Supernal eye
In the sky
Full still moon

Big stone
Cold Alone
Full still moon

In reverie
A memory
Full still moon

Only one
You are
gone

Only night
to dream
upon

Full

Cold

Moon.

Kathryn Cassidy on her blog has an interesting take on the meridians of the planet and their association with the signs of the zodiac. She wrote the post on wednesday in connection with the earthquake in Haiti and floods in Madeira.

There have been reports of an earthquake in Argentina as well today so both sides of S. America have been affected this weekend.

If you look at the map on Kathryn's post the area falls into the Capricorn through Pisces quadrant of the Zodiac and where are all the planets grouped at the moment?

There are also reports of a hole in the Earth's magnetosphere that is centred over the latitude/longitude of the epicentre of the Chilean quake.

Off topic. Have you ever posted anything on Lewis Carroll or Tim Burton? We're going to see Alice in Wonderland this week and the trailers are pretty amazing. Another 3D epic!

Johnny Depp certainly likes to play "weird" characters....Willy Wonka, Edward Scissorhands, Captain Jack and now the Mad Hatter. Does them well though.

Rossa ~~ thank you for the link - very interesting piece!

I've also been reading an exchange at the Skyscript forum this morning on this topic.

There's some mention there of a connection with "parans" and the earthquake -parans is a concept which I'm not very familiar with - but learning fast. ;-)

It seems that several factors came together around the same time, and I'd guess that the Super Full Moon provided the trigger and timer.

Re your other question - after scrambling around my archives (I'd omitted to tag the posts properly) I found one about Tim Burton and Johnny Depp, and one about Lewis Carroll (and Paul Klee). LC's b'day was the same as mine (minus year!)

The latter could do with an updating, which I'll tackle soon - I want to see the "Alice" movie too ASAP, so that'll be a good time to re-do him.

Interesting idea. Science hardly touches such relationships, most likely for fear of ridicule. Maybe a big mistake.

anthonynorth ~~~ A huge mistake, in my opinion. The Moon affects tides, as well as other factors - in plant and wildlife, I don't see it as outlandish to suppose that the Moon might well have some kind of effect on the Earth's underpinnings.
